Theodora Mavropoulos is a journalist and producer for international print, radio and TV newsrooms in the fields of culture, politics and society.
Whether in text, audio or video, she is at home in shaping complex subjects for their intended audiences, in creative format development and in cross-media storytelling. From reportage and features to portraits and interviews, news writing, commentary and straight agency copy, she has worked across every format. She also brings technical skills in video editing and SEO.
Reporting mainly for taz, she covered Greece from 2012 to 2020 — first the economic crisis, later the refugees arriving on the Greek islands. Throughout her reporting she kept the people affected at the centre, carrying hard facts within stories to make them tangible. Back in Berlin, she travelled across Europe primarily for Deutsche Welle, producing videos on culture and lifestyle. In both Greece and Berlin she has worked repeatedly as a producer for The Associated Press.
